Estate Planning

The primary mission of our law firm is to achieve the goals of our clients in the preservation, administration and transfer of their assets in a cost efficient and timely manner.

Whether for a single individual, couple or family, the basic estate plan includes a Revocable Trust, Will, Durable Powers of Attorney for property management and an Advance Healthcare Directive.

  • Revocable Trusts are often a preferable alternative to stand alone wills because they provide lifetime and post-mortem property administration and trusts for children as well as avoid the costs of probate.

  • A Will, when combined with a trust, assumes the function of transferring assets at death into the trust, which had not been transferred during the life of the creator of the trusts ("Settlor" or "Trustor"). Clients with minor children can nominate guardians for their children in the Will.

  • Durable Powers of Attorney for property management can often avoid the need for conservatorships by empowering a chosen agent (also known as attorney in fact) to provide specific or very comprehensive personal support should an individual lose competency.

  • The Advance Health Care Directive enables clients to appoint a health care agent/advocate and to express instructions regarding end of life care.

Trust & Probate Law

We provide probate and trust administration guidance and assistance. It is often helpful to take into consideration the interests and concerns of all family members and beneficiaries in addition to the guidance provided by the relevant documents and the law. In this way a successful administration not only fulfills the wishes of decedent(s), but if possible, preserves positive family relationships. We are clear that our exceptional representation of the personal representative, whether the trustee or executor or administrator, is our primary focus.

Family Law

Our approach emphasizes a compassionate, professional and prompt approach to understanding and providing guidance toward resolution of the issues present in general family matters and conflicts including:

  • Dissolution of Marriage
  • Separation
  • Child Custody and Support
  • Spousal Support
  • Marital and Premarital Agreements

Clients are advised of their rights and responsibilities under the law and are encouraged to achieve a clear recognition of the issues so as to facilite an approach and strategy designed to achieve optimum results.
